Adopt a Frog

The Frog HospitalHot Chilli Public Relations is lending a hand at no cost to help out The Frog Hospital — the only one of its kind in Australia.

It desperately needs funds to enable it to keep up the amazing work it is doing.   Frogs are such an integral part of the far north and our amazing landscape and since 1998, The Frog Hospital has received 2000 sick and injured frogs.  Many of them have been cared for and then released successfully back into the wild.

The Cairns Post has generously agreed to come on board to help promote a campaign we have created — ADOPT A FROG — which, ultimately will be launched nationally and a media release explaining can be downloaded below.  We are also planning a campaign launch and details will be forwarded to those who are able to help out.

To kick start the campaign, I am looking for some Cairns businesses to put their hands up to:

  • Become a Member
  • Be a Sponsor
  • Buy some of the A4 cards (which will sell for only $5 but will contain information on frogs)

The Cairns Post will list those businesses in an effort to encourage others to do likewise.

I know businesses, every day, are being asked to contribute to some cause or other, but if you could help, even in a small way, we would be really grateful and so will the frogs!

Go Overboard!

When you treat customers well, they come back and they tell other people about their good experiences.

It is estimated that 80% of people who receive bad service or have a bad experience will tell ten people about it.

Let’s face it. No matter how hard we try to excel, things go wrong. It might be something that we consider minor but it can be monumental to the customer. It’s how you deal with it that will not only make or break you but will set you apart from your competitors.

Make sure that you are all singing from the same songbook. If you, as the business owner, are waxing lyrical with an aria by Puccini and the rest of your team are neck deep in Wolfmother, then the culture isn’t going to be maintained.

The customer service culture has to start at the top — and it’s your responsibility as the business owner, to establish that culture, and bring it home to every single person in the team.

But that can be the problem. If you are time poor, and let’s face it, so many people are, the importance of customer care can be overlooked.
